Big Star 03:09
Hey baby do you wanna be a big star? Don’t even think I know what that means anymore I don’t like this funny business How was I to know I’d end up like this Out here on the road We can catch up sometime Always on the go Don’t think too hard You might lose it Everybody knows there’s no money in this Meet me anywhere We can do whatever Guess I’ll see you there Hey baby so you wanna be a big star Do you think you might be better than before I could’ve learned you a lesson I couldn’t tell you a lie No time for anything You’re so gone now Some place all alone out there Breathing underneath some burning light Wonder if you even have to care Or is it all just sunshine? Now maybe baby when you are a big star You can play yourself a pointy red guitar Hope it works out in some favor Try to let us know you’re still out there Somewhere on the road We can waste some time there Then I gotta go Hey baby now that you are such a big star Wonder if you’re come around here anymore

I’m not alone Just isolated I’m looking for a new way Walk around here with my eyes closed Don’t wanna know I just wanna feel something oh yeah Remember I’m alive Easy to forget that sometimes It’s not a crime Falling deeper down into it And help ain’t on the way Living in a movie now Don’t you be afraid Everything is better now That’s what you say I’m not alone Just overrated I’m like another blue day I’m running in the dark now The night’s so loud And everybody else is sleeping Or watching the tv I’m breathing in the black night I’m alright Turning back into myself again But nothing is the same And I just don’t know anymore I won’t be afraid Everything is wonderful That’s what you say I’m not alone
just complicated I’m miles away now From you

Lazy Sunday 03:00
There I was in a daze Like a lazy Sunday yeah Can you take me back there? I had gone in too far I had been the other side With no way to get out And the light was shining I’ve been walking In my sleep I’ve been dreaming of you There I was dressed to kill Like an easy million yeah I was holding roses And I went like the night Couldn’t feel my eyes again I could see where I was And the light was shining I was talking In my sleep I don’t think I meant to Take me back Leave me in the place you found me And again I was there And my hair was longer yeah Guess there’s no way to know Without moving backwards Can you put me back to sleep Will you turn the lights out I am right where I am And I’m thinking of you

You’re so cool Saying anything you want Must be great Must be great Don’t know How you do it to yourself Every day Every day Out for blood All the time Look at you Walking round all by yourself Hey hey Hey hey Out for blood In the rain One-track brain Out for blood You’re so cool Saying anything you want Must be great Must be great Don’t know How you do it to yourself Every day Every day
5.
Never knew I could Ever feel like this Some days I’m only such a mess Guess I’m lucky Did not think I would Ever feel this way Not perfect now, but that’s ok Least it’s something The night will come for me With eyes wide open Make up my mind for me I don’t want to Wonder if I know How it all will end Alone and probably bored again Ready for nothing The day is rolling out The sky is a fire I listen to the sound All around me Dancing with the sun Sky is blue again
6.
What did you get yourself into? Burning holes for everyone to see through Maybe I’m going blind again Nothing’s right, and you don’t seem to mind That’s just the way it goes I know that you think so Wish that you could see yourself now Standing there pulling out your hair Poison in the air and all around you Maybe I’ve got you wrong again It’s ok, it’s all just in my mind That’s just the way it goes I know that you think so Wish that you could see yourself now That’s just the way it goes I know that you think so Wish that you could be yourself now Guess we’ll see It’s a mystery I was only ever thinking
7.
Hope you don’t mind I like to think of you sometimes it’s true Wonder where you are tonight Take me away Back to the last time that I saw your face We were standing in the rain It’s been so long Since I heard you sing my favorite song How did we get so far away? I wish that I could go And tell you everything I didn’t know that it would be the last time when I Left you standing in the rain Hope you don’t mind I like to think of you sometimes it’s true Wonder where you are tonight Take me away Back to the last time that I saw your face We were standing in the rain
8.
I think that I’ll just stay home tonight Lock the door and turn out all the lights Don’t worry I’m doing just fine You know that I Am writing down The words don’t always rhyme I’m sorry for nothing I won’t take too long In and out again My second favorite song Keeps playing in my head It goes on and on I think you know it I used to stay out so late at night My eyes were bright as The stars up in the sky Were shining I think that I think too much sometimes I’m looking up and Feeling down again So tired of something
I won’t take too long In and out again My second favorite song Keeps playing in my head It goes on and on Back and forth again I just play along Take me to the end Maybe you will be there waiting I won’t get too far away tonight The sun is coming I’m waiting for the light To show me the way out So slowly I’m faded

Heartbeat 03:23
Started out sinking into the ground Don’t know what I was thinking Maybe I just need to keep it to myself Know how it is these days I am floating off Red light on again I’m wide awake now Left you in my dream You were hovering Coming in for something I can feel I really need some new obsession Might just ride around and turn the music up too loud Just this one time Landing on the ground In the light again I’m wide awake now Left you in the dark Just like a dream I can feel my heart is beating Do you hear my heart beat? Can you feel my heart is beating? I’m wide awake now Left you back in time The light was drifting Somewhere down the line Can you tell someone? First one that you find I’m having fun now Ending up thinking about the things I try not to remember Digging in too deep
I guess that’s just the way it goes
10.
Miracle 04:05
Here I am again Reaching out I hope I get through You are somewhere else Listening to this I hope that you enjoy it In the sun I am crawling I am calling out for you Looking for a miracle Staring at the sky There goes the sunshine Watch it waltzing away Maybe it’s too late I don’t pay attention to the time these days No I’ve become like the ones I Always warned myself about Waiting for a miracle Screaming at the sky Here comes a nightmare I am only dreaming Oh There’s a scene repeating Oh Looking for a miracle Screaming at the sky Walking through a nightmare Dreaming of a daydream Tearing out my eyes Think I’ll go inside now Find me fading away Too old to pretend That I’m gonna live forever Vampire party Necromancer I will find my way out

about

Just Like a Dream is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Daniel Markham, a powerful dreamscape that blends elements of power pop, classic rock, and alternative music straight out of the 90s. Recorded and mixed by acclaimed producer David Barbe at Chase Park Transduction in Athens, Georgia, in May 2022, and featuring Kris Killingsworth on the drums and Kyle Harris on the bass, his tenth full-length album captures the essence of a world emerging from the depths of the pandemic.

The album, mostly penned during a tumultuous year in 2021, reflects the collective journey of a society awakening from isolation. With a vision to fuse the energy of power pop with the timeless allure of classic rock and the rawness of alternative grunge, Just Like a Dream delves into themes of isolation, self-realization, evolution, loss, and optimism. Drawing inspiration from legendary acts like Big Star, Love, Tom Petty, etc. and using massive, resonating guitar melded with a potent rhythm section, Just Like a Dream crafts a sound that's both nostalgic and contemporary, weaving together melodies that are as polished as it is raw and authentic.

The lead single, 'Big Star', serves as a poignant anthem, shedding light on the disillusionment and disconnection often felt when making original music in an oversaturated industry.

Just Like a Dream is poised to captivate listeners with its introspective lyrics, infectious hooks, and dynamic arrangements. As Markham continues to explore new sonic territories and evolve as an artist, the band remains committed to crafting music that speaks to the shared human experience.
